Capabilities
Reinforced catheter tubing, built to your specification
Braided, coiled and multi-layer constructions from 1 to 15 mm outer diameter — manufactured to your drawings, with braid and coil parameters controlled to your project requirements.
Capability snapshot
What we can build
The fastest way to know whether we are a fit for your project. If your construction sits inside these parameters, we can quote it.
| Parameter | Capability |
|---|---|
| Outer diameter | 1–15 mm |
| Reinforcement type | Braided constructions, coiled constructions, and combined multi-layer constructions |
| Reinforcement material | Stainless steel |
| Wire profile | Round wire and flat wire |
| Liner | PTFE — available etched and with a tie-layer |
| Jacket materials | Pebax in a range of durometers, Vestamid |
| Lumen configuration | Single lumen, multi-lumen and complex lumen geometries |
| Stiffness | Variable stiffness along the length of the catheter |
| Integration | Working channels; channels and integration for electrodes and cameras; steerable constructions and steering mechanisms; assembly and integration of components |
| Optional components | Marker bands, hypotubes, steering rings, and custom tip components on request |
| Process control | Braid and coil parameters controlled to project requirements |
| Quality system | ISO 13485:2016 — certification scope: manufacturing of reinforced tubing for medical device applications |
Construction types
Braided, coiled, and combinations of both
Different constructions solve different problems — torque, kink resistance, flexibility, column strength. We build all of them, and combine them in a single shaft where the design calls for it.
Braided
Stainless-steel braid over a PTFE liner, in round or flat wire, with braid parameters set to the torque and flexibility your design requires.
Coiled
Coil reinforcement for flexibility and kink resistance, with coil pitch controlled along the shaft to match the required performance.
Multi-layer combinations
Braid and coil combined in layered constructions, with liner, reinforcement and jacket selected together to hit the target profile.
Multi-lumen & complex geometries
Single lumen, multi-lumen and complex lumen geometries, including working channels and channels routed for electrodes and cameras.
Process control
Braid and coil parameters set to your requirements
Reinforcement is not a fixed recipe. Braid and coil parameters are selected and controlled for each project, so the construction matches the performance your design needs rather than whatever the machine happens to be set to.
- Round and flat stainless-steel wire
- Braid and coil parameters controlled per project
- Braiding and coiling carried out in-house
Materials
Liners, jackets and reinforcement
Material selection is part of the engineering conversation. These are the materials we work with routinely.
Liner
- PTFE — etched and tie-layer available
Jacket materials
- Pebax — range of durometers
- Vestamid
Reinforcement
- Stainless steel
- Round wire
- Flat wire
Schematic illustration, not to scale. Layer count and construction are defined per project.
Illustrative configurations. Channels can be routed for electrodes and cameras. Geometry is built to your drawing.
Engineering features
Stiffness, lumens, steering and integration
Most projects need more than a tube. These are the features we build into the shaft itself.
- Variable stiffness along the length of the catheter
- Working channels and multi-lumen geometries
- Channels and integration for electrodes and cameras
- Steerable constructions and steering mechanisms
- Optional components — marker bands, hypotubes, steering rings and custom tip components on request
- Assembly and integration of components into sub-assemblies
- Engineering and design support throughout the project
ISO 13485:2016 / EN ISO 13485:2016 certified. Certification scope: manufacturing of reinforced tubing for medical device applications.
